SAL MALAFRONTE

STYLIST / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

71 PARK PLAZA & 22 LIBERTY DRIVE

I’ve been with Mario for 25 years. I started at Salon Mario Russo when I was still in hair school, and I am now the Artistic Director.

Education is super important to me. I traveled the country teaching cutting and styling for the Shu Uemura Art of Hair Atelier team. I’ve continued my own education at Bumble & Bumble in New York and at Vidal Sassoon in London. Incredible experiences.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with some great celebrities. Actresses Anna Camp, America Ferrera and Bridget Moynahan, musician Lori Mckenna, comedian Mo Rocca, author Tina Brown and TV host Clinton Kelly. I also appeared on this really cool show called Ambush Makeover. Lots of fun.

Over the years I’ve won some awards which is such an honor. Boston Common magazine named me Best Haircut and I was Allure magazine’s Best Blowout.

I get my inspiration from a million different places. I’m an entertainment and pop culture junkie and I’ve never met a beauty queen I didn’t like.

I’ve wanted to be a hairstylist since I was a little kid, and I feel so lucky to be psyched to go to work every day.
